Houses are all different shapes, sizes
and ages. At this workshop children will
discover Glasgow’s oldest house and meet
one of its former residents. Through play
and detective work, they will explore the
differences between houses of long ago and

A visit to Provand’s Lordship
gives children the chance to
learn about Glasgow’s medieval
past. Provand’s Lordship was
built over 500 years ago and is
Glasgow’s oldest house. Learners
can immerse themselves in the
historic surroundings.
Open Tuesday–Sunday;

Mary, Queen of Scots
Second Level, Primary 5–7
Per class: FREE (Glasgow) or £36
Available Wednesdays only
Bring your class to meet Mary Seton, the
faithful lady-in-waiting to Mary, Queen of
Scots. Through drama and dressing up this
character-led session will take pupils back in
time to explore the fascinating story of this
Scottish Queen. EXA 2-13a
Unfortunately, due to the layout
of the house, it is not possible
to eat packed lunches inside
Provand’s Lordship. There is a
semi-sheltered area with seating
in the garden that you are
welcome to use. Indoor space
may be available at the nearby
St Mungo Museum of Religious
Life and Art, but this is limited
so please contact us in advance
