about the art of our time. It offers<br />

thought-provoking displays of<br />

paintings, sculptures, prints<br />

and approachable Learning &<br />

Access team encourage active<br />

participati<strong>on</strong> though a range of<br />

engaging activities both within the<br />

galleries and in the studio space.<br />

This workshop looks at how artists<br />

experiment with scale, material, <strong>for</strong>m and<br />

space. Learners will be encouraged to<br />

problem solve, create and c<strong>on</strong>struct their<br />

I see, I think, I w<strong>on</strong>der ...<br />

All school workshops <strong>for</strong> 2012–13 will explore exhibiti<strong>on</strong>s of sculpture,<br />

drawings, video installati<strong>on</strong>s and prints.<br />

Every workshop will:<br />

• Explore works of art<br />

• Be tailored to age, ASL and language needs<br />

• Include time in the gallery and studio<br />

• Incorporate an interactive tour and discussi<strong>on</strong><br />

• Offer exciting practical activities<br />

• Involve peer discussi<strong>on</strong> and critical feedback<br />

• C<strong>on</strong>clude with reflecti<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> learning outcomes<br />

In 2012–13 exhibiti<strong>on</strong>s at GoMA will include:<br />

Tales of the City, 21 June 2012– 23 June 2013: an exhibiti<strong>on</strong> of works taken<br />

from our collecti<strong>on</strong>s and recent acquisiti<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

Fi<strong>on</strong>a Tan: Disorient, 19 July 2012–24 February 2013: a large immersive<br />

video work which will take up the whole of Gallery 1 (shown as part of<br />

Tales of the City).<br />

Niki de Saint Phalle, 15 November 2012–3 November 2013: a selecti<strong>on</strong> of<br />

stunning sculptural works from different stages of the artist’s career, taken<br />

from a recent d<strong>on</strong>ati<strong>on</strong> of works by Eric and Jean Cass.<br />

Teachers are welcome to bring a camera to all GoMA workshops to record<br />

pupils’ work and activities.<br />

This year GoMA celebrates ten<br />

years of collecting cutting-edge<br />

c<strong>on</strong>temporary art. Our collecti<strong>on</strong>s<br />

include works by Turner Prize<br />

winners and nominees, and by many<br />

other nati<strong>on</strong>ally and internati<strong>on</strong>ally<br />

renowned artists. There is a wealth<br />

of artwork <strong>for</strong> all to be inspired by<br />

and enjoy.<br />

ASL and BSL PROGRAMME<br />

All GoMA school workshops can<br />

be adapted <strong>for</strong> ASL, including BSL<br />

(British Sign Language) – ph<strong>on</strong>e<br />
