Holocaust Memorial Day. It focuses <strong>on</strong><br />
museum objects which tell stories of hope,<br />
in particular the stories of Ernest Levy,<br />

The Friends of <strong>Glasgow</strong> Necropolis offer<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mative tours of <strong>Glasgow</strong> Necropolis,<br />
just behind St Mungo Museum, which can<br />
be tailored <strong>for</strong> <strong>schools</strong>. From these, pupils<br />
can learn a great deal about <strong>Glasgow</strong>’s<br />
history, such as about the importance of<br />
industrialists in the past. The Friends also<br />
offer PowerPoint presentati<strong>on</strong>s about the<br />
Necropolis to <strong>schools</strong>.<br />
Curious is an innovative <strong>Glasgow</strong> Museums<br />
project. It will celebrate the L<strong>on</strong>d<strong>on</strong><br />
2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games<br />
and prepare <strong>for</strong> the 2014 Comm<strong>on</strong>wealth<br />
Games by creating intercultural dialogue<br />
and a legacy of increased understanding<br />
of each other, our city and our collecti<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
Curious includes a <strong>schools</strong> programme<br />
that was developed in partnership with<br />
<strong>schools</strong> and reflects the approach of the<br />
Curriculum <strong>for</strong> Excellence.<br />

Meet colourful African animals and dance<br />
with our friendly skelet<strong>on</strong>. Children will<br />
explore music, dance and tales from around<br />

A Curiously Open Mind<br />

FREE <strong>for</strong> all <strong>schools</strong><br />
A self-led active-learning trail with an<br />
introducti<strong>on</strong> from museum staff. Working<br />
in groups, pupils will learn more about<br />
Scotland’s rich and diverse culture. They<br />
will also find out more about the Hindu god<br />
Shiva and discover how to play the ancient<br />
African game Warri. Teachers will receive a<br />

a wealth of objects that are perfect<br />
<strong>for</strong> a cross-curricular approach to<br />
learning. Come and explore the<br />
collecti<strong>on</strong> with us and investigate<br />
how this excellent resource can be<br />
used to build your own topic.<br />

Curious is part of the Scottish Project. The Scottish Project has<br />
been funded by Legacy Trust UK, creating a lasting impact from<br />
the L<strong>on</strong>d<strong>on</strong> 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by funding<br />
ideas and local talent to inspire creativity across the UK and by<br />
the Nati<strong>on</strong>al Lottery through Creative Scotland.<br />
