Welcome to our ever-expanding programme of workshops at <strong>Glasgow</strong> Museums. <strong>Glasgow</strong><br />
Museums’ activities <strong>for</strong> <strong>schools</strong> support many aspects of the Curriculum <strong>for</strong> Excellence,<br />
as is illustrated by our new staffroom posters – see opposite.<br />
As always, we will be happy to talk to you about your particular needs and, with enough<br />
notice, our experienced team of Learning Assistants will be able to create bespoke sessi<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
Teachers are welcome to our venues <strong>on</strong> in-service days and we can provide a free<br />
programme of activities, including tours of our museum stores at <strong>Glasgow</strong> Museums<br />
Resource Centre.<br />
A gallery devoted to the Scottish Colourists at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is am<strong>on</strong>g<br />
the many new displays created at our venues in 2012. This year we also look <strong>for</strong>ward to an<br />
exciting new touring exhibiti<strong>on</strong> from the British Museum – Pharaoh: King of Egypt – which<br />
will be at Kelvingrove 3 November 2012 to 24 February 2013. This will feature highlights<br />
from the British Museum’s superb collecti<strong>on</strong> of Ancient Egyptian objects.<br />

C<strong>on</strong>tinuing Professi<strong>on</strong>al Development <strong>for</strong> teachers<br />
<strong>Glasgow</strong> Museums’ Learning & Access team offers C<strong>on</strong>tinuing Professi<strong>on</strong>al Development<br />
(CPD) <strong>for</strong> teachers – <strong>for</strong> more in<strong>for</strong>mati<strong>on</strong> see www.glasgowmuseums.com/learning or<br />

Museum Champi<strong>on</strong>s<br />
Would you like to be our champi<strong>on</strong>? Museum Champi<strong>on</strong>s are <strong>Glasgow</strong> primary-school<br />
teachers who support <strong>Glasgow</strong> Museums by meeting with museum staff three times a year<br />
after school. They help develop our programmes and shape learning provisi<strong>on</strong>. They also<br />
keep staff in their <strong>schools</strong> in<strong>for</strong>med about what’s happening at <strong>Glasgow</strong> Museums and<br />
encourage teachers to bring their pupils <strong>for</strong> a visit. In return, the Museum Champi<strong>on</strong>s are<br />
invited to exhibiti<strong>on</strong> previews and given opportunities to develop professi<strong>on</strong>ally.<br />
