attend without cancelling. If you can’t make it, let us know by phoning 0141 276 9505/6
up to an hour before the workshop begins and there will be no charge.

The programme for 2012–2013
Welcome to our ever-expanding programme of workshops at Glasgow Museums. Glasgow
Museums’ activities for schools support many aspects of the Curriculum for Excellence,
as is illustrated by our new staffroom posters – see opposite.
As always, we will be happy to talk to you about your particular needs and, with enough
notice, our experienced team of Learning Assistants will be able to create bespoke sessions.
Teachers are welcome to our venues on in-service days and we can provide a free
programme of activities, including tours of our museum stores at Glasgow Museums
Resource Centre.
A gallery devoted to the Scottish Colourists at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is among
the many new displays created at our venues in 2012. This year we also look forward to an
exciting new touring exhibition from the British Museum – Pharaoh: King of Egypt – which
will be at Kelvingrove 3 November 2012 to 24 February 2013. This will feature highlights
from the British Museum’s superb collection of Ancient Egyptian objects.

Museum Champions
Would you like to be our champion? Museum Champions are Glasgow primary-school
teachers who support Glasgow Museums by meeting with museum staff three times a year
after school. They help develop our programmes and shape learning provision. They also
keep staff in their schools informed about what’s happening at Glasgow Museums and
encourage teachers to bring their pupils for a visit. In return, the Museum Champions are
invited to exhibition previews and given opportunities to develop professionally.
