Reprocessing for further use of suction devices
Alone in Germany there are around
20,000 patients, who are not able to
cough up secretion from the respiratory
tract. Here a suction device should be
available. For the use at home, health
insurance companies provide these appliances
either brand-new or reprocessed
for further use. Unfortunately, it is often
common practice that suction devices
are reprocessed at a favourable price,
but from untrained personnel, and with
insufficient means.
These devices are dangerous to
patients‘ and third persons‘ health. In
addition a declining confidence in the
professional medical care is the result
– especially when a device is oversucked!

Especially in the case of lump compensation,
it is almost impossible for the
care providers to perform a top-quality
reprocessing according to manufacturer
information, and at the same time cover
their costs. For these reasons, patients
often get suction devices which are improperly
reprocessed.

be checked and reprocessed quickly!
