These devices have an integrated service indicator, the
so-called condensate trap. This indicator enables a quick
and cost-saving visual inspection regarding its condition
without having to open it. In the case where no discolouring,
residues or humidity are visible in the condensate
trap, this proves, the device has always been operated
properly and a contamination can be ruled out.
If the indicator bears traces of an oversuction, carelessness/improper
use must be assumed. The device must
then be submitted for repair to ATMOS or an authorised
ATMOS partner. And the costs for repair are considerably
higher than for a reprocessing because a repair
is much more complex.
Compared with the reprocessing costs for a conventional
device, the quick visual inspection enables a reduction
in price of up to 40%. Therefore, these C-class suction
devices are recommendable for frequent change-over to
a new patient. Especially in the case of lump compensation
they are the first choice.
