3.2.18. Visit to an onshore drilling well<br />

The visit corresponds to <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> practical<br />

application <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>of</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> Pet<strong>ro</strong>leum training p<strong>ro</strong>ject<br />

that was funded by <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>AAPG</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> ER, 500 € that are<br />

to be used for travel and accommodation<br />

costs. It was one day long in <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> same time<br />

with <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> Dob<strong>ro</strong>gea Field Trip, but had to stay<br />

for <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> night due to <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> delayed operations<br />

onsite. 10 members <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>of</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> BSC visited <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> drilling<br />

well <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>of</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> a small local company that planned to<br />

perforate a carbonate reservoir for gas.<br />

The operation lasted many hours and<br />

we undertook a training p<strong>ro</strong>c<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>edu</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>re regarding<br />

well visits. On site, we were taught about <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng><br />

<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>geo</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>logical setting, <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> well log analyses, <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng><br />

volumetrics <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>of</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> reservoir, risks and how will<br />

<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>y extract <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> gas. The train ended after<br />

seeing <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> gun used for perforating <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> tube<br />

and <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> reservoir. In <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> future, we wish for<br />

more similar training sessions.<br />

We thank <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>the</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>AAPG</st<strong>ro</strong>ng> ER for funding this<br />

p<strong>ro</strong>ject because it helped a lot in dealing with<br />

companies.<br />
