O<strong>the</strong>r results in 2009 – 2010
- Petroleum training program: fortunately with <strong>the</strong> help <strong>of</strong> <strong>AAPG</strong> ER funding program our
<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Chapter</strong> is climbing one more step towards <strong>the</strong> objective <strong>of</strong> developing a more facile
petroleum <strong>geo</strong>logy based <strong>edu</strong>cation - > doors are beginning to open;
- Imperial Barrel Award Team: <strong>the</strong> first IBA team will be ready to compete in 2010 – 2011
contest;
- Field trips: about 7 practical <strong>geo</strong>logical trips were organized by BSC members, 3 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m
funded entirely by <strong>the</strong> chapter with <strong>the</strong> help <strong>of</strong> L. Austin Grant;
- National and International participations: our members attended with success different
National and International Conferences, Workshops, Symposiums, ei<strong>the</strong>r by presenting <strong>the</strong>ir
paper (oral or poster) or simply by volunteering and program participations;
- InfoBSC & <strong>AAPG</strong> ER Newsletters: <strong>the</strong> 4 th number <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> InfoBSC has been printed and
sent out in <strong>the</strong> world to tell <strong>the</strong> stories <strong>of</strong> BSC members and <strong>the</strong>ir activity; also we started
sending articles for <strong>the</strong> ER Newsletter;
- Industry vs. Academia lecture series (VGP): <strong>the</strong> lectures are essentials for student
pr<strong>of</strong>essional building, setting <strong>the</strong> field for a Young Pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>Chapter</strong> in <strong>Bucharest</strong> in 2011;
- Headquarter and info boards: to work properly we continue to improve our HQ with IT
facilities and to use all means <strong>of</strong> promoting to students what BSC, <strong>AAPG</strong>, SEG and EAGE
have to <strong>of</strong>fer;
