to use the toilet during class time and would be
accompanied by the helper. Hands would be
washed after toilet use.
SNACKS
The idea behind providing a daily snack is to
provide supplementary nutrition to the children.
The normal menu followed is :
Monday : Biscuits and Banana
Tuesday : Boiled egg
Wednesday : Dates
Thursday : Peas and Banana
Friday : Boiled egg
Saturday : Rice flakes and Banana
This may be modified based on local needs.
IDENTIFYING A FOOD IN-CHARGE
To procure and distribute all the material a person
who is well versed with marketing and also
kitchen management is required. The person
would identify the quality of material, different
brands available, rates etc and shortlist the
shops for procurement. He/she will obtain quotations
from the suppliers periodically and procure
food material in such quantities that would make
the purchase economical and also possible to be
stored with care so that the food material does
not become stale.
STORAGE OF MATERIAL
The procured material must be stored safely in
closed metal boxes. It has to be secured against
the attacks of rodents. It should not be stored for
long durations to prevent turning stale. Whenever
new stock arrives, the old stock must be
shuffled to the top before storing the material.
