Key Challenges and Opportunities<br />

The following challenges and opportunities will have an impact on the Business Unit during the<br />

2010-2015 time frame.<br />

Challenges with Community-Wide Impact:<br />

• Supporting Council and Corporate Strategy: <strong>Regional</strong> Council has adopted areas on<br />

which the municipality needs to place the most focus during their current mandate. The<br />

Council Focus Areas are Transportation; Infrastructure; Public Safety; Community Planning;<br />

and Governance and Communications. In addition to Council’s focus areas, the Executive<br />

Management Team (EMT) sets priorities for the municipality’s administration. The EMT<br />
