Key Challenges and Opportunities
The following challenges and opportunities will have an impact on the Business Unit during the
2010-2015 time frame.
Challenges with Community-Wide Impact:
• Supporting Council and Corporate Strategy: Regional Council has adopted areas on
which the municipality needs to place the most focus during their current mandate. The
Council Focus Areas are Transportation; Infrastructure; Public Safety; Community Planning;
and Governance and Communications. In addition to Council’s focus areas, the Executive
Management Team (EMT) sets priorities for the municipality’s administration. The EMT
