Please use encrypted transmission to transmit your file. The following transmission options
are available:
File transmission via "Elektronische Poststelle" of the e-government portal of Hamburg
(http://service.hamburg.de). A free-of-charge registration as company is required.
Transmission of the XML file as e-mail attachment to portsecurity@poststelle.hamburg.de
(You may also use this address if you have any further questions).
By transmitting the data above, supplemented by a list of the weapons on board, stating the
‣ Type of weapon
‣ Amount of ammunition on board
‣ Calibre
‣ Manufacturer, trademark
‣ Model and
‣ Serial number
the master also meets the requirements to be granted an exemption from the reservation of
authorisations under the law governing weapons as laid down in section 10 (3) and (4)
German Weapons Act.

4.6 Customs
Two areas in the port have been established as customs-free zones, the “Alter Freihafen”
area located east of Köhlbrand and the “Waltershof” area located west of Köhlbrand.
At all berths customs will board the vessel on arrival.
