RESULTS<br />

Populati<strong>on</strong>’s descriptive statistics<br />

950 families were interviewed for <strong>the</strong> survey, for a total <strong>of</strong> 950 surveys. Participants to each<br />

family interview varied from a maximum <strong>of</strong> nine members to a minimum <strong>of</strong> 3 members.<br />

However each family group <strong>of</strong> interviewees had to agree <strong>on</strong> a most relevant answer to be<br />

accounted to as <strong>the</strong> family answer.<br />

Am<strong>on</strong>g <strong>the</strong> 950 families interviewed, families with parents and two children were <strong>the</strong> most<br />

comm<strong>on</strong> (26.7%) – Figure I.<br />

The principal resp<strong>on</strong>dents to <strong>the</strong> interviews, usually <strong>the</strong> household, were women in <strong>the</strong> 60.4% <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> cases (n=534) and men in <strong>the</strong> 39.6% (n=344) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> cases.<br />

The biggest number <strong>of</strong> resp<strong>on</strong>dents lives in Port-au-Prince (27%), followed by Peti<strong>on</strong> Ville<br />

(17%) and Delmas (13%) (Figure II).<br />
