Classification
Biotypes:
The 01 serogroup is divided into 2 biotypes:
Classical.
El Tor.
Each biotype has been subdivided into 2 serotypes:
Inaba: It produces only A and C antigens.
Ogawa: It produces the A and B antigens and a small
amount of C.
NB: Hikojima, the third biotype, produces all three
antigens but is rare and unstable.
