Epidemiology
A. Geographical:
Cholera has been rare in industrialized nations for the last
100 years.
It is common in Indian subcontinent and sub-Saharan Africa.
B. Age:
In non-endemic area, incidence of infection is similar in
all age-groups.
The exception is breastfed children, who are protected
against severe disease because of less exposure and
because of the antibodies to cholera they obtain in breast
milk.
