use them as a resource <strong>to</strong> encourage students <strong>to</strong> compost their food scraps.<br />
Encourage food service <strong>to</strong> compost their kitchen food waste.<br />
Ask them <strong>to</strong> help decide where the best place for compost bucket <strong>in</strong> kitchen and<br />
the location of outside b<strong>in</strong> placement.<br />
S<strong>in</strong>ce food service makes the lunch, they can write the food that is compostable<br />
daily on a white board sign <strong>to</strong> make it easier for students.<br />
Make sure they are comfortable clean<strong>in</strong>g out the compost buckets as it will<br />
undoubtedly fall on<strong>to</strong> the food service <strong>to</strong> clean them.<br />
Help them learn about compost<strong>in</strong>g through letters home or their students<br />
engagement.<br />
Ask for parent volunteers <strong>to</strong> moni<strong>to</strong>r the compost<strong>in</strong>g at lunch.<br />
Parents can be a great resource for materials, talent and time when start<strong>in</strong>g up a<br />
