Identify High Potential Early
• Gather as many “total hurt” and
near miss data points as practical
• Perform a quick and simple “if not
for luck” analysis on each point
• Sort data based on reasonable
potential for fatalities, then lost
time, then recordables
• Focus energy/resources on
highest potential first
• Continue to take advantage of
low hanging fruit to influence
safety climate
