Justified Episode Guide In the prison yard, a guard approaches Dickie – the same guard who was recently bought off by Boyd. ”I overheard every word of that conversation between you and Crowder and I want that money,” the guard says. Dickie begins to laugh, claiming that he has no money and just lied to Boyd to save his life. The guard doesn’t buy it. Dickie says that even if he had the money, he couldn’t get it until he was set free. ”Is that all?” the guard asks. Later, Wade bursts into a pawnshop run by Glen, who promptly locks the door and raises the ”closed” sign. Wade explains that he escaped from a roadblock, leaving behind J.T. Glen then bails out J.T., bringing him back to the shop. J.T. asks for some drugs. ”He gets arrested, my truck gets confiscated and he still wants his pills,” Glen says in disbelief. Glen then hands J.T. a revolver. If J.T. survives one round of Russian roulette, he gets his pills. So J.T. puts the gun to his head ... and squeezes the trigger. Click. J.T. exhales in relief. Glen then tells J.T. to try again. It’s not Russian roulette – it’s Harlan roulette. Terrified, J.T. pulls the trigger. Another click. Relieved and furious, J.T. then tries to empty the gun into Glen’s stomach. Click. Click. Click. Click. Turns out the gun wasn’t loaded. Glen then calmly takes the gun back from J.T., loads one bullet and pulls the trigger. BLAM! J.T. falls to the ground. Dead. Back at Boyd’s house, Limehouse’s men pull up in a flatbed to take the weed off Boyd’s hands. Of course, Devil is furious that they’re being paid so little, but Boyd tells the idiot that going to jail because they held out for an extra $1,000 or so isn’t good business. Inside, Boyd gathers the gang – Ava, Arlo and Devil – around the kitchen table to explain that group is going to ”claim something that rightfully belongs to the Crowder family.” Sounds dangerous. Quarles, meanwhile, is explaining his own big plans to Wynn. They are going to turn Kentucky into an pill paradise. The deal is simple. Corrupt doctors will prescribe pills to clients, who will keep half the bottle. The remainder of the pills go to Quarles’ backers in Detroit. ”That is why it’s called ’organized crime,’” explains Quarles. Later, Givens enters Glen’s pawnshop and asks about Wade. ”Your employee, Wally (Beckett), posted his bail.” Glen claims ignorance. Naturally, Givens doesn’t buy it for a second. After Givens leaves, Glen calls Wynn in a panic. Quarles instructs Glen to kill Givens. ”OK,” Glen says. He immediately puts Wade on the mission – against Wade’s better judgement. Boyd enters Johnny’s old bar. Turns out that when Johnny was laid up following his run in with a shotgun, the new owner swooped in and bought the bar off Johnny for a song. Well, Boyd is here to right the wrong. The owner is soon staring down the barrel of a gun as Johnny, confined to a wheelchair, rolls through the front door. ”You can take what’s left in the cash register,” Boyd tells the now former owner. ”That’s your severance pay.” Wade then arrives home to find Givens waiting. The Marshal clearly suspected something was amiss when Wade called to turn himself in. Wade’s secret plan to shoot Givens upon arrival has been foiled. Wade then goes inside his shack, jabbering the entire time. He emerges moments later empty handed. Turns out Givens has already been inside and taken Wade’s gun. Wade then confesses that Glen ordered him to kill Givens. ”After you shot me, what were you supposed to do next?” Givens asks. The Marshal then has Wade call Glen and claim to have been wounded in the successful assassination of Givens. Glen is no dummy. He grabs a whole bunch of guns before heading out to Wade’s house accompanied by Beckett. Givens soon appears, explaining that Wade is handcuffed to the backseat of the state issued vehicle. Givens offers Glen a choice: surrender or get shot in the heart. ”What if I gave up some friends ... How about Wynn Duffy?” Glen says. Not wanting to be left out of the deal-making game, Beckett turns on Glen, explaining the recent death of J.T. Glen dismisses Beckett’s accusation, so Beckett turns his gun on Glen. Givens is quickly losing control of the situation. Everybody is yelling when Beckett and Glen both open fire on each other. They both fall. Dead. Later, Quarles is testing out a ”Taxi Driver” type device that hides a gun in his sleeve when there is a knock on the door. It’s Givens, looking for Wynn. Givens enters. ”Well, howdy,” says an eerily calm Quarles. ”That’s a big gun.” Givens then punches Wynn – and punches him again. Givens then ejects the bullet in his gun’s chamber and tosses it on Wynn’s chest. ”The next one is coming faster,” the Marshal warns. Quarles then stares down Givens. ”How fast do you think those bullets will be when they’re heading back at you?” Quarles asks. Givens raises his cell phone and takes the man’s picture. Quarles smiles as if posing for a family photo. Givens may just have acquired a new nemesis. 78

Meanwhile, Boyd confronts a traitor in his inner circle. Devil paces on a front porch of a nice home while Tanner Dodd tells him to relax. The ”boss” is on his way. Enter Quarles stepping onto the porch with a broad smile. ”You must be the one they call ’Devil,’” he says. Inside, Quarles explains that Tanner is a ”talent scout” – and has scouted Devil, who isn’t exactly thrilled with how Boyd has treated him. ”You got something better?” Devil asks. Quarles assures Devil that, yes, he does. In the prison yard, Dickie and Dewey are taking severe beatings at the hands of their fellow inmates. Moments later, they are taken to the infirmary, where corrupt guard Ash Murphy rages. Dewey wasn’t supposed to be part of this ”plan.” Lance, the prison medic who is also in on the escape plan, jabs Dewey in the neck with a needle. Dewey goes limp. Problem solved... for now. Later, Givens arrives at the prison to question Lance, who explains that he was injured when Dickie escaped in a coroner’s van. The van is parked on the side of a rural road as Ash approaches driver Edward Fowler... and shoots him dead where he sits. He then opens the back of the van to reveal the body bags containing Dickie and Dewey. Ash then explains that he and Dickie will go after Mags’s money while Dewey goes with Lance to hide out at a nearby motel. Neither escapee is overly pleased. Givens then visits Loretta, who explains that she has a few friends in her new life as a babysitter. After some banter, Givens asks about Mags’s stash of money. Loretta thinks she might know where ol’ Mags might just have kept that stash. Later, following Loretta’s tip, Givens and Rachel arrive at Limehouse’s house looking for Dickie, who they suspect is after his mom’s money. The pair spar with Limehouse, who isn’t 79
