• The IBEW lakes great pleasure In announCing 1M Founders Scholarship Program
TOr 1985.
The IBEW offers to ils members a maximum 01 12 Founders' Scholarships annually
for lull·lime university study leading 10 bachelor's degrees in specified fields. The
number 01 scholarships awarded is determmed by the number 01 qualilled apph·
canl~ne scholarship for each 25 quahhed applicants or major fraction thereof
The scholarships are worth S3,ooo a year for up 10 lour years of undergraduate
study toward a bachelor'S degree in any approved fields. They will be granted
on a compelJlive basIs to qualified candidates Irom all branches 01 the IBEW
The IBEW Founders' Scholarships honor lhe small group 01 skilled and
dedicated wiremen and linemen who, In November, 1891, organized
the tnternational Brotherhood 01 Electncal Workers
ElIglblilly- IBEW members who have beon In conlinuous good standing
lor at least four (4) years by the lime Ihey begin college Sludy or are origi·
nal members of a local umon chanered less than four (4) years are ellQlble
to apply for the Founders' Scholarships It IS further required, where applicable,
thai apprentices shall have completed a lull, tormal apprenticeship as estab·
lished in their trade and area
Applicants are reqUITed to lake the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), which Will
be administered In communities throughout the United States and Canada on
November 3,1984, December 1,1984, and JanuAry 26, 1965, Applications must be
received by the Scholarship Selection Committee by February 22, 1965
