installing a Carbon Di-Oxide (CO2) Recovery (CDR) Plant of 450<br />
MTPD capacity each at Aonla and Phulpur Units at an estimated<br />
capital cost of Rs. 120 crore to recover CO2 from flue gases and to<br />
avoid Naphtha usage.<br />
It has won the First as well as Second National Energy<br />
Conservation Awards from Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry<br />
of Power, Government of India for the year 2006 – 07 in the<br />

IOCL is an Indian <strong>Public</strong> – Sector Petroleum Company. It is<br />
India’s largest commercial enterprise, ranking 135th on the<br />
fortune Global 500 listing. It began operation in 1959 as Indian<br />
Oil Company ltd.<br />
The IOCL was formed in 1964, with the merger of Indian<br />
Refineries ltd. Indian Oil and its subsidies account for a 47%<br />
share in the petroleum products markets, 40% share in refining<br />
capacity and 67% downstream sector, pipelines capacity in India.<br />
The Indian Oil Group of Companies own and operates, 10of<br />
India’s 19 refineries with a combined refining capacity of 60.2<br />
million metric tons per years. The sales turnover for the year<br />
2007-2008 is Rs. 2, 47,479 crore and profit of Rs.6, 963 crore.<br />
Protection of the environment is the core commitment of its<br />
business and fully focused on “sustainable development”.<br />
Because of this all operating units and installations have a<br />
comprehensive safety, health and environment management<br />
system in place. The management system and major marketing<br />
installation terminals are certified to ISO-14001 Standards. The<br />
facilities are periodically reviewed and upgraded from time to<br />
time for better performance. It is also the Active Partner of the<br />
Global Compact Programme.<br />
All Indian Oil Refineries comply with the prescribed<br />
environmental standards and incorporate State-of-the-Art<br />
effluent technologies that further improved these standards.<br />
