potential for acting as an enabling tool for internalising energy<br />

efficiency within the procurement process.<br />

Green Building Practices<br />

Green building practices refers to the practice of bringing<br />

efficiency within the way in which buildings use resources such as<br />

energy, water and materials. Such efficient use can be a result of<br />

better planning, design, choice of site, construction, operation,<br />

maintenance, and removal throughout the complete building life<br />

cycle and can be instrumental in reducing building impacts on<br />

human health, environment and overall carbon foot print of the<br />

organization functioning out of that building.<br />

Therefore, green buildings are built with the objective of meeting<br />

one or more of the following:<br />
