YEAH! It’s Fall Frenzy! The Fall Frenzy<br />
Promotion has been extended to September<br />
as well! Back to school is in full<br />
swing! Everyone is adjusting to having the<br />
kids back at school. Many women have extra<br />
time during the day, making it the perfect time<br />
to schedule parties. Each new Mary Kay<br />
year, I focus on getting back to the basics:<br />
Book, Coach, Sell, Recruit. We focused on booking last<br />
month, so this month is focused on coaching. It’s great to<br />
book classes and selling appointments, but you’ll get so much<br />
more out of them if you take the time to coach your hostess<br />
and future class attendees. This is a great skill to perfect right<br />
before the 2010 holiday season.<br />
September is a great preparation month. The holiday season<br />
is just beginning. Retail buyers are trying to figure out now<br />
what they are going to buy for employees. Have you<br />
approached any of them and offered your personal gift-buying,<br />
100% guaranteed service? You should! Our new products<br />
are fabulous and sure to please! Women are trying to figure<br />
out what they are going to buy their families this year, and<br />
unfortunately many are struggling with how they can afford<br />
what they want to purchase. Will you offer them an<br />
opportunity to help? Fall fashions are here and winter is on<br />
the way- which also means updated skin care and<br />
glamour. Are you thinking like a retailer and getting ready for<br />
the coming months? Are you holding parties that will lead to<br />
holiday sales and new team members (and Fall Frenzy<br />
Recognition)? Have you dusted off your Holiday<br />
Checklist? What about your Holiday Wish Lists? Don’t you<br />
want to be one of the first on their minds for holiday gifts this<br />
year?<br />
I encourage you to jumpstart your business now for the<br />
holiday season. We all know that time becomes more and<br />
more precious as the end of the year progresses. If you do<br />
the work now to schedule appointments, you’ll have a lot<br />
easier time scheduling follow-up appointments in the coming<br />
months. You’ll also have lots of new people attending your<br />
holiday open house, more businesses to visit to hold trunk<br />
shows based on new customers, and more prospective team<br />
members looking to make some extra holiday cash.<br />
The choice is yours…. Will you jump in with both feet this<br />
month and make this an incredible season? Many retailers do<br />
a large majority of their business in these next few<br />
months. You can be one of them! If you focus on holiday<br />
sales now- you’ll also have more freedom in your schedule<br />
(and finances!) on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s a win/<br />
win. Plus, through the Mary Kay opportunity, you could offer<br />
someone an incredible holiday season they wouldn’t have had<br />

Think back to the last time you bought a car. If you’re like most<br />
of us, you probably have some bad memories about slick<br />
salespeople who accosted you the moment you walked into<br />
the auto dealer’s lot and then spent more time selling rather<br />
than listening and educating. The salesperson wasn’t trying to<br />
solve your problem--figuring out which car to purchase. He<br />
was trying to solve his problem--how to make a fat commission<br />
that would meet his next mortgage payment. Because of such<br />
poor customer service, you may very well have turned around,<br />
checkbook in hand, and taken your business elsewhere…. When a person<br />
buys a product or service, part of what can close the sale or blow the deal is the<br />
quality (or lack thereof) of customer service before the moment a customer<br />
decides to buy. When a person is in the market for a product or service, the<br />
customer service before the sale is crucial to making or breaking the deal.<br />
When a person schedules an appointment, such as with a physician, he’s not<br />
just buying that person’s expertise- he’s also buying “proper care and handling”<br />
before the service is provided. When a person enters your store, she wants it<br />
clean and well-maintained and conveniently arranged. It’s all customer service.
