Coaches Corner: Stop & Read… Urgent Information… Action Needs To Be Taken!!!
Dear Women of Wow,
As we approach the end of this seminar year, I am thinking about the difference between dreams and goals. We
all have dreams in life--things we’d love to see happen. Some of us have dreams to retire early, buy a special gift
for a family member--like paying for college or buying your husband his dream car (or maybe your own pink Cadillac).
Many of us have a dream of traveling the world, not having to work, or reaching a certain level of achievement
like Director or National Sales Director.
The difference between dreamers and achievers is setting goals, finding the process and avenue that will take you
there, and then taking the first step on that pathway towards success. So many people have dreams but do not
focus on the process necessary to achieve those dreams. They dream of losing weight but don’t change their diet
or exercise to achieve their goal of a healthy, happy body -so it remains a dream.
The question is, “How do you plan on making your dream come true?” If you take the time--think through and map
a plan on how you can drive free--you’ll be able to mark your progress and you’ll make that dream a reality. The
same principle holds true for a red jacket, directorship, and even traveling the world. Any goal without a process is
just a dream--but you can take that next step to turn that goal into a reality.
One other great thing about figuring out your process is that often you’ll find many of your dreams will become a
reality. Henry Ford was asked by a reporter what he would do if he lost his billion dollar fortune and he replied, “I’d
have it back in less than five years.” He had figured out what things he needed to do to become successful, and
that process would work again. In Mary Kay we know the process--book, coach, sell and recruit. By practicing,
figuring out your strengths, and then consistently doing the things you know to do, you’ll be a success on your own
time table. Knowledge and hard work can make you successful--will you choose success today?
We’re in the FINAL Month of the
Seminar Year! You can still achieve
your goals! Keep Selling, Keep
Teambuilding! YOU CAN DO IT!
In David McNally's magnificent book, 'Even Eagles Need a
Push', we read these words: "The eagle gently coaxed her
offspring toward the edge of the nest. Her heart quivered
with conflicting emotions as she felt their resistance to her
persistent nudging.
Why does the thrill of soaring have to begin with the fear
of falling? she thought. The ageless question was still unanswered
for her. Her nest was located high on a shelf of
sheer rock face. Below there was nothing but air to support
the wings of each offspring. Is it possible that this time
it will not work? Despite her fears, the eagle knew it was
time. Her parental mission was all but complete. There
remained one final task - the push.
"The eagle drew courage from innate wisdom. Until her
offspring discovered their wings, there was no purpose for
their lives. Until they learned how to soar they would fail to
understand the privilege it was to have been born an eagle.
The push was the greatest gift she had to offer. It was
her supreme act of love. And so, one by one she pushed
them and they flew!"
Is God stirring up your nest
today? Is He pushing you out
of your comfort zone? If He is,
have no fear; before He's
through, you'll be glad, you'll
understand and you'll "...mount
up with wings as eagles..."
(Isa 40:31).

Top 5 tips for the early morning bride:
1. Your makeup look should be soft and pretty to match the cool, soft morning light (even if you are
getting married inside, most photographers like to go outside to get some photos).
2. If your skin tends to break out, do not choose this time of day for your wedding because you
should minimize foundation and concealer (again, due to the soft, natural light).
3. Make sure to define your eyes really well at the lash line to help them stand out.
4. Lip color should be soft and natural—nothing too bold at this time of day or your lip color will dominate your photos)
5. Everything will photograph darker than it appears because the light is so soft; therefore, go with softer shade choices.
Top 5 tips for the midday bride:
1. Don’t use foundation with a “dewiness” sheen —it will look too shiny & reflective in the photos.
2. Wear the least amount of foundation possible because it will show the most. A lightweight
foundation and a matte powder finish will photograph beautifully.
3. Your blush should have a matte finish. Too much shimmer it will look too shiny in the photos.
4. Keep eye liner as close to the lash line as possible. If it is too thick it could darken the lid more
than you want, creating the dreaded "black hole effect."
5. Since the sunlight grows stronger as midday approaches, every makeup line becomes more visible. Make sure to blend
your foundation, blush, eye shadow, and powder very well. At this time of day, there is no such thing as over-blending!!!
5 top tips for the evening bride:
1. if you have less than perfect skin, this is a great time for you! You can wear more foundation and
powder and still look natural!
2. Bronze generously to give your skin a glow. Evening photos require a flash, which means your skin
will look washed out if you don't add a beautiful bronzy glow!
3. Define everything from your lips to your eyes to your cheekbones. For example, you will need at
least a little color on your cheeks because of the flash even if you don’t wear blush on a daily basis.
4. A shimmery eye shadow will photograph beautifully for the evening, but do NOT wear a frosted shadow. Frosted eye
shadow looks too shiny in photos.
5. if you love a “smoky-eyes” look (and do not have deep set eyes), evening is a perfect time to wear one!
