News from St Peter Guides
At this time of the year Guides
go outside as much as we can.
Recently we held two “cook
outs” when we cook a meal on a
wood fire – burgers and
sausages have a different flavour
when cooked outdoors!
Our leaders took us for an overnight
camp in May – during the month’s only
fine weekend. The theme was the
Diamond Jubilee. We decorated
cupcakes, made our placemats, made a
flower arrangement for our place
settings, made Jubilee bunting to
decorate our camp site and prepared
an afternoon tea party with food
representing each decade of the
Queen’s reign – the paste sandwiches
were not all that nice! We had a
great camp fire in the evening
singing lots of Guiding songs. We
really enjoyed our camp and
cannot wait to go again!
A few of us helped to serve tea at
the Parish Diamond Jubilee Tea
Party on Saturday 2nd June. We
had a great time meeting everyone.
This term we also cleaned up a
section of the course that the ITEX
walkers use as our “good turn”.
If you think this sounds like fun
there is so much more. Come and
join us and have lots of fun.
If you are interested in
volunteering as a leader or would
like to become a Guide with us
please contact Mrs Jill Green
on 483083 for more information.
