There are services on campus for <strong>student</strong>s<br />

struggling with eating problems. Psychological<br />

Services at SDC can provide an assessment<br />

<strong>of</strong> current difficulties. During most <strong>of</strong> the<br />

academic year, an assessment will be <strong>of</strong>fered<br />

to you within one week <strong>of</strong> your contact<br />

with us. If appropriate, we will also <strong>of</strong>fer<br />

you psychotherapy for your eating issues.<br />

The waiting time for therapy varies greatly<br />

depending upon the time <strong>of</strong> year. All <strong>student</strong>s<br />

will also be provided referrals.<br />

Rapid HIV Testing<br />

be providing free anonymous Rapid HIV<br />

Testing for all <strong>student</strong>s. This service is being<br />

<strong>of</strong>fered on an anonymous appointment<br />

basis - please email usc.hiv.testing@uwo.ca<br />

for an appointment. The testing is <strong>of</strong>fered &<br />

facilitated by the Options Clinic <strong>of</strong> London.<br />

A <strong>Western</strong> Student Medical Certificate<br />

(SMC) is required when a <strong>student</strong> visits<br />

an <strong>of</strong>f-campus physician and is requesting<br />

academic accommodation. This documentation<br />

should be obtained at the time <strong>of</strong> the initial<br />

consultation with the physician or walk-in<br />

clinic. An SMC can be downloaded from<br />

the Medical Documentation heading at<br />

<strong>student</strong>services.uwo.ca. Students obtaining<br />

documentation from Student Health Services<br />

should sign a “release <strong>of</strong> information.” This<br />

form authorizes Student Health Services to<br />

provide information to the <strong>student</strong>’s home<br />

Faculty.<br />

issues, sexuality, sexual assault, self-esteem<br />

issues, abuse issues, eating disorders, traumatic<br />

events, family problems, grief and loss,<br />

disability issues, relationship issues, adjustment<br />
