be available in September<br />

from, you’ll soon see why! Joining a club<br />

is an easy way to connect with people who<br />

share similar goals and interests. Each club is<br />

run by <strong>student</strong>s, for <strong>student</strong>s.<br />

The clubs system has something for<br />

everyone, whether your interest is political,<br />

cultural, or recreational. Sign up during<br />

Clubs Week in September and January in<br />

the UCC Atrium, or start your own club!<br />

participate in the VIP program by<br />

volunteering as English Conversation<br />

Editors, Peer Mentors,VIP Student<br />

etc. Created by <strong>Western</strong> <strong>student</strong>s in 1983,<br />

the program was designed to complement<br />

<strong>student</strong>s’ academic life by providing them<br />

with an opportunity to gain career-related<br />

skills and experience.<br />

<strong>Western</strong> Serves<br />

<strong>Western</strong> Serves is a one-day community<br />

service learning<br />

program <strong>of</strong>fered by The Student<br />

Success Centre designed to<br />

increase participants’ social<br />

awareness and knowledge <strong>of</strong><br />

volunteer opportunities in the<br />

London community. Students,<br />

faculty and staff participate<br />

together in meaningful service<br />

experiences at a variety <strong>of</strong><br />

community agencies, including<br />

the Boys & Girls Club<br />

and ReForest London. <strong>Western</strong><br />

Serves takes place annually<br />

on the 3rd Saturday in<br />

September.<br />

(WVP)<br />

The Student Success Centre<br />

designed <strong>Western</strong>’s Volunteer<br />

Program (WVP) to provide<br />

<strong>Western</strong> <strong>student</strong>s with practical<br />

experience and the opportunity to enhance<br />

their civic responsibility while addressing<br />

campus community needs. Through WVP,<br />

<strong>student</strong>s are given the opportunity to work<br />

on a volunteer basis under the guidance <strong>of</strong><br />

a supervisor from <strong>Western</strong> or an affiliated<br />

institution. These supervisors include faculty<br />

and staff who are willing to mentor committed<br />

<strong>Western</strong> <strong>student</strong>s throughout the year for 3-10<br />

hours a week. Check out the website, or drop<br />
