An additional new part to the GDO for ‘Schools, Leisure &<br />

Community Facilities & Other Institutions’ should be<br />

produced, this would include all the uses set out in Table<br />

12.4. <strong>The</strong> new Part for other institutions would permit<br />

extensions, new build and alterations:<br />

Max 50 sq m floorspace and max height of 5 m for<br />

new buildings;<br />

Max 50 sq m floorspace for extensions and alterations<br />

to buildings up to a max of 25 per cent additional<br />

floorspace;<br />

Extensions to be no higher than existing building, and<br />

max 5 m high if within 10 m of boundary;<br />

New buildings and extensions to be no closer than 5<br />

m to any boundary and no closer to a highway than<br />

any existing building;<br />

Not on playing fields;<br />

Not permitted development within the curtilage of a<br />

Listed Building unless Listed Building Consent for the<br />

development has previously been granted;<br />

Max 50 per cent ground coverage;<br />

No loss of turning/manoeuvring space for vehicles;<br />

Materials to match;<br />

New permeable (or porous) hardstanding up to 50 sq<br />

m<br />

Not permitted development within flood plains; and<br />

No basements in flood plains.<br />

PD rights for new Part regarding other<br />

institutions to be permitted in AONBs<br />

& National Parks but removed in CAs,<br />

ASSIs & SAIs.<br />
