NIRPC is working with its partners in the public and private sectors to identify ways to capitalize on the region’s freight
infrastructure and generate opportunities for substantial economic returns. Significant land tracts are available along
truck and freight lines. Many of these sites are former industrial properties (brownfields) or underutilized land that could
be brought back into more productive use as cargo-oriented development for the benefit of the community and region.
