film and music. This area is a great
incubator for young people to gain so
much insight into their particular interests.
It is also such a giving place. A place
where people love to help out and “send
the elevator down”
Javier Deleon is a rising talent in the
make-up world. Javier is young, driven,
talented and has a catching personality.
LIVE Magazine: Javier, at such an early age (16), what
was it like working at Fashion Week?
Javier: Having an expirience working with talented
designers was always a dream for me and I
expirienced a glimpse of it. I felt so privileged when I
seen I was going to attend El Paseo fashion Week. It
definetly introduced me to the fashion industry. Being
able to see your work walk down the runway was a
feeling I couldn’t explain. I look forward on working
with more designers in my future.

LIVE Magazine: After Fashion Week, did you find new
ideas, or anything different that you learned?
Javier: I definetly learned how to work under pressure
and pay attention to strict detail.It definetly broadened
my mentality in the makeup world with all the creativity
that was around me.Learning other techniques from
other makeup artist was a great expirience.
LIVE Magazine: How do you feel you influence other
young individuals to pursue there career goals?
Javier: Well growing up with several challenges and
over coming so many obstacles it is important to stay
true to yourself. I always educate my peers and young
people to keep pushing and never give up. I am not at
a place where i want to be just yet but i cherish all that
i have at the moment. Anything is possible and it just
takes one person and that is YOURSELF.
LIVE Magazine: Michael Costello has been on the
cover of LIVE Magazine several times. It looks like
you are following his career path. Do you see yourself
at Fashion Week in New York?
Javier: Michael Costello has always influenced me in all
aspects in this industry. His motivation and drive to give
his best is something I take in. Having any opportunity
to work in fashion week is something I always wanted to
do. The expirience of working with talented models and
designers is an amazing feeling that not just anyone
can expirience. I strive for the best and I’ll always
continue to work hard to achieve my dreams.
LIVE Magazine: What would you like to be working on
in your future?
Javier: My motto is to become someone who nobody
will forget. It will be a dream to start a makeup school
to offer my techniques and skills to other aspiring
artist. I feel it is important to have a mentor as a
starting out makeup artist to guide you in the right
path to become successful . I love to give back to
my industry that I love so much. I love teaching and I
balance it well with my Makeup career.
LIVE Magazine: You love to give back to the
community. Is there a particular cause that speaks to
you personally?
Javier: An important life lesson that I learned was,
No matter how tough you think your life is there’s
always someone who has to face challenges that
are even tougher then yours. My biggest sole reward
the realization that I’ve made a significant change in
someone’s life.
