Al Tafla<br />
Can be found with huge reserves <strong>in</strong> the Governorate of <strong>Aswan</strong>, and it is<br />
one of the f<strong>in</strong>est Tafla, It is spread around Lake Nasser <strong>in</strong> the Eastern<br />
Desert and Western regions (Abu Hajjaj ‐ Abu Saberh) deposited as layers<br />
<strong>in</strong> the rocks of Nubian Sandstone, the most important types are (Boleky<br />
Tafla – <strong>Aswan</strong>i Tafla – Sahrawi Tafla – Baleeda Tafla ).<br />

Third: Agricultural resources <strong>in</strong> <strong>Aswan</strong>:<br />
The agricultural activity <strong>in</strong> the governorate of <strong>Aswan</strong> is considered to be<br />
an important activity which still absorbs 28.5% of the total employed<br />
people p <strong>in</strong> the Governorate, it has been found when exam<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the<br />
possibilities for the development of civilization to this sector such as land<br />
suitable for reclamation that reach up to 1.3 million acres <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g lands<br />
suitable for reclamation around Lake Nasser.<br />
Objectives of agricultural development:<br />
1. Improve the standard of liv<strong>in</strong>g to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> and open new horizons for<br />
residents to participate <strong>in</strong> the development processes.<br />
2. Open new horizons to contribute to the development of the<br />
governorate<br />
3. To attract the private sector to contribute to the strengthen<strong>in</strong>g of the<br />
development <strong>in</strong> the governorate.<br />
Axes of development of agriculture <strong>in</strong> <strong>Aswan</strong>:<br />
1. Horizontal expansion <strong>in</strong> agriculture<br />
2. Resettlement <strong>in</strong> the new reclamation areas<br />
3. Improvement and ma<strong>in</strong>tenance of the old lands to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> soil fertility<br />
and <strong>in</strong>crease production<br />
4. Dissem<strong>in</strong>ation of species plant<strong>in</strong>g and high production species<br />
5. Cont<strong>in</strong>ued policy of expand<strong>in</strong>g the scope of the contribution of the<br />
private sector and strengthen its role <strong>in</strong> agricultural l development,<br />
especially <strong>in</strong> the field of agricultural development, and the field of<br />
agricultural market<strong>in</strong>g that only the state's role <strong>in</strong> the preparation of plans<br />
and programs and conduct researches, extensions, and economic studies<br />
and provide <strong>in</strong>formation.<br />
There has been an <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>in</strong> the agricultural area from 181 thousand<br />
acres to 310 thousand acres by 72% due to the implementation of the<br />
follow<strong>in</strong>g projects:
