•As a result of the <strong>in</strong>tensive build<strong>in</strong>g on the granite reserve areas, a fence<br />

shall be built around the granite quarries <strong>in</strong> <strong>Aswan</strong> to save the rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

quarry resource.<br />

•The safe scientific methods shall be applied when extract<strong>in</strong>g clay from Al‐<br />

Aqaba m<strong>in</strong>es at the North of <strong>Aswan</strong>, as due to the random extraction of<br />

clays, the cave sides were collapsed. In addition, an experienced m<strong>in</strong>es<br />

eng<strong>in</strong>eer shall be appo<strong>in</strong>ted as a requirement for licens<strong>in</strong>g & renew<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />

clay m<strong>in</strong>es.<br />

•Persons responsible for the collapses are obliged to underp<strong>in</strong> caves &<br />

prevent offenders from licens<strong>in</strong>g other quarries before the <strong>in</strong>stauration of<br />

current quarries.<br />

5‐ Develop<strong>in</strong>g the human resources & provid<strong>in</strong>g technical cadres capable of<br />

boost<strong>in</strong>g economy <strong>in</strong> <strong>Aswan</strong>.<br />

6‐ Plann<strong>in</strong>g for the quarry resource to be a basic resource on which the<br />

Governorate can depend to <strong>in</strong>crease the national <strong>in</strong>come .<br />

7‐ Submitt<strong>in</strong>g a half‐yearly report of implement<strong>in</strong>g the plans of <strong>in</strong>vest<strong>in</strong>g<br />

quarry resources & f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g new scientific & technical methods of<br />

supervis<strong>in</strong>g these plans.<br />

8‐ Stopp<strong>in</strong>g illegal use of explosives <strong>in</strong> extract<strong>in</strong>g quarry resources & f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g<br />

new scientific & technical methods of supervis<strong>in</strong>g these plans.<br />

9‐ Stopp<strong>in</strong>g the random utilization of quarry resource <strong>in</strong> Al‐Alaki valley (South<br />

of <strong>Aswan</strong>)<br />

10‐The necessity of adopt<strong>in</strong>g the follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>stant procedures:<br />

• Permitt<strong>in</strong>g the licens<strong>in</strong>g of marble quarries <strong>in</strong> Umm Arka Zone which is the<br />

most important zone of extract<strong>in</strong>g marble <strong>in</strong> Egypt.<br />

• Cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g work <strong>in</strong> all granite quarries <strong>in</strong> <strong>Aswan</strong>, especially <strong>in</strong> the zones of<br />

Al Masalah & Al Shalal, which were previously granted approvals from the<br />

Armed Forces Operations Authority.<br />

•Place the red granite quarry positions <strong>in</strong> Al Masalah zone on the tourist<br />

dest<strong>in</strong>ation map.
