Information on mileage rate and insurance proof
Submitted by Vicki Gardner, vice president for business affairs and
human resources
Effective Oct. 1, 2008, the mileage reimbursement rate for
approved college travel will be 50 cents per mile.
Please adjust travel reimbursement claims accordingly.
Also, for college insurance purposes, the business office regularly
obtains proof of automobile insurance from employees who use their
own vehicles for college business. Proof of insurance, typically
submitted with initial travel reimbursement claims, is required for
reimbursement of expenses. It is not necessary to submit the proof
every time because the business office keeps a log of submitted
cards and informs the employee when a new card copy is needed.
The copies of cards are secured in the business office for
insurance audit purposes. Questions regarding this process may be
addressed to Angela Kunce in the Business Office.
