Prerequisite for enrollment is Introduction to PCs or equivalent<br />

experience.<br />

The class will meet Tuesday and Thursday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 2,<br />

from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Room D121. The course number is DAPR<br />

318A.Q13, and the price is $99, which includes the text. Illinois<br />

teachers who complete the course can receive 8.0 ISBE CPDUs.<br />

Work related courses taken through the office of Corporate &<br />

Continuing Education could qualify for reimbursement if approved<br />

prior to enrollment.<br />

Early <strong>Update</strong> deadline<br />

The deadline to have articles in the Oct. 6 <strong>Update</strong> will be<br />

Wednesday, Oct. 1 at noon.<br />

This is an exception to the usual deadline of noon Thursday for the<br />

following Monday's issue. In addition to submitting articles and article<br />

ideas in person or on paper, you also can submit them via e-mail to<br />

eskelly@kcc.edu.<br />

Articles should be submitted to Ellen Skelly in Marketing and<br />

Public Information. You can contact Ellen at ext. 8279.<br />

Fire drills scheduled<br />

Fire drills are scheduled for 9:05 a.m. and 5:35 p.m.<br />

Monday, Sept. 29.<br />

Faculty will need to plan for the alarm in order that<br />

there are not tests scheduled for that time. All staff<br />

should review fire evacuation procedures before the<br />

drill.<br />

In order that there is some degree of realism to the<br />

drill, faculty should not forewarn students. During the<br />

drill, everyone should cooperate to assist students in leaving the<br />

building and staying a reasonable distance from the buildings.<br />

KCC graduate wins an emmy!<br />

Congratulations to KCC graduate Merritt Yohnka for earning an<br />

Emmy award.<br />

Yohnka won in the category of Outstanding Stunt Coordination for<br />

"Chuck Versus The Undercover Lover," an episode of the NBC<br />

series, "Chuck." He was the stunt coordinator, and was among five
