Yohnka attended KCC for five semesters between Fall 1976 and<br />

Summer 1978, accumulating 61 credit hours. He earned an<br />

Associate in Arts transfer degree in 1983. He now lives in California.<br />

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Creative Arts<br />

Primetime Emmys, the event where Yohnka won the award, were<br />

taped Saturday, Sept. 13 and aired Sept. 20 on E! A separate<br />

ceremony, the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards, aired on Sunday, Sept.<br />

21.<br />

Bob Ling, professor in the Math, Science and Engineering Division,<br />

would like to thank Eric Springer and Cathy Robinson for their<br />

professional and efficient response to an incident during his class the<br />

evening of Sept. 14.<br />

Bob said Eric, the coordinator of public safety and campus<br />

operations for Physical Plant Department, and Cathy, the evening<br />

administrator, were very helpful.<br />

Congratulations Constitution winners<br />

Congratulations to the winners of the Constitution<br />

Day contest.<br />

First place winner was Feleciacassandra Herron,<br />

and she won a KCC gft basket plus a gift certificate for<br />

a three credit hour course.<br />

Second place winner was Cynthia Blanding, and she<br />

won a $25 gas card.<br />

Constitution Day was Sept. 17. It was celebrated at KCC with<br />

events in the <strong>College</strong> Center including listening to "America the<br />

Beautiful," historical readings from KCC assistant professor Scott<br />

Kistler, and comments from the <strong>Kankakee</strong> County Clerk, Bruce Clark.<br />

The celebration concluded with attendees joining Colin Powell via<br />

Internet in reciting the Preamble of the Constitution and singing the<br />

National Anthem.<br />

The event was emceed by Hyrum LaTurner, chairperson of the<br />

Humanities and Social Sciences Division.<br />
