Chatterjee, Deborah (EH) Working as a
freelance TV producer. Getting married
in October. I cannot believe it is nearly 8
years since I graduated. Hello to everyone

Michel, Sam (ET) Married Claire
(Nosworthy) D91, and am running an
email publishing and consultancy business;
Claire is working at the BBC. As disorganised
and chaotic as ever! London.
Murphy, Tony (ES) Moved office back to
Stoke, and now Deputy Mayor. Staffordshire.
Owen, Guinny (DT) After trying for
ages, finally got a job with Games
Workshop! Working in the Studio as part
of the editorial staff, putting books
together and proof-reading everything (so I
had better make sure that this is spelled
correctly!). Nottinghamshire.

Blessing, James (RN) Working for Zen
as Technical Support Manager. Still doing
the occasional bit of DJ-ing (see
www.despres.co.uk/broken for details).

David Fulton (RS), a star opening
batsman for Kent County Cricket, was
this year named Professional Cricketing
Association Player of the Year.
Ford, Eleanor (DH) Currently at Salford
University studying physiotherapy, and
aiming to become a Formula One physio
(not as fanciful as half the stuff we did at
University). Manchester.
Mbapila, Dim (DS) Working for the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Special
Adviser to the Minister. Still maintaining
my interests in the private sector. Just
came back from DAVOS 2001 in Switzerland.

Bates, Gabriela (EN) After finishing my
PhD in Material Physics I worked for the
national grid as an overhead lines engineer
and have completed a Graduate Training
Course to become a Physics teacher in
Hythe. I start as Head of Physics in
September. Married Guy

and we live in Ashford.
Guy works as an Operations
Manager for a railway
freight company. Kent.

Recently become District
Wildlife Co-ordinator
(Central District) on
promotion. A District in
Botswana is an equivalent
of a County in the UK.
The work is rather

Unilever in Beirut as Safety
& Quality Assurance (QA)

extensively. Now work in

been working in the advertising area since
graduation. Currently an Account
Director at DDB Advertising Agency

Rahman, Saira (ES) Project Coordinator
in an NGO called Odhikar. It
investigates and writes and disseminates
reports on human rights abuses by law
enforcing agencies in Bangladesh. I have
also published a book on the socio-legal
status of women in Bangladesh, the subject
of my thesis at Kent. Bangladesh.
Sanchez, Juan-Luis (KN) I am working
at Industrial Light and Magic on ‘Star
Wars: Episode II’, the fulfillment of a
childhood dream. Amazingly it is living up
to all of my hopes! USA.

Jennie Stoker EH94 in August, an
event that the Fencing Club and the
exiles had been awaiting for over 5 years!
Jennie is teaching primary school;
Andrew is working in accounts at a
women's college. Oxford.

Humphreys, Asa (KS) MA (Durham)
which I’ve just finished and am still of the
opinion that UKC is better! I have a place
as an intern in the House of Commons
next year so Helen’s bet about being PM
by 30 is nearing completion! Nice to see
Keynes looking pretty at last. Kent.

Carufel, Erin (DH) I am currently
working - which is good for any actress.I
have done three features in the past four
months and was in the season premiere of
ER. I will continue to work hard, and you
will see me on the big screen for many
years to come. USA.
Deaths
We are very sad to have to report the
deaths of several alumni. Caroline
Elizabeth Adams K67 died of cancer
on 5 June (Her obituary appeared in
The Guardian on Saturday 23; let us
know if you would like a copy.) Dr
Richard James Kelsey K75 died on 3
June 99, from accidental death related to
his asthma. Richard’s mother donated
his chemistry books to the Library.
Margaret Wright (Spillane, K77)
informed us of the death, on 25 July this
year, from cancer of Barbara Anne
London (Rickaby, K77). Barbara Rae
(Nunn, K79) died in August 1999 from
cancer. (See Bulletin 26 pp 10-11). Eve
(R86, Boyce) and Graham R84
Ferguson notified us that Robert
Parsonage R84 had died in February of
a brain tumour. Nicholas Sorrell R84
died in February from Pneumonia.
Victor Arthur Smale E85 died in
January from cancer. Dirminder
Anthony Singh Benning K91 died in
January from a brain tumour. Maisey
Jessie Bray K96 died in May from
cancer.
