Cadres to Ensure Sustainable<br />
Human Development<br />
<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> endeavors to<br />
achieve its mission of Qatarization.<br />
It comes in line with Qatar<br />
Vision 2030 announced by<br />
H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad<br />
Al-Thani the Heir Apparent<br />
with relation to giving attention to the human<br />
element and the effective career qualification of<br />
the Qatari young men and women as the pillar<br />
of the human development in the State. For the<br />
realization of this end, <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> has actively<br />
participated in various employment events.<br />
Human Resources Department (HR), in cooperation<br />
with Public Relations & communication<br />
Department (PR) organized the Student Sponsorship<br />
and Internship Day at Qatar University<br />
(QU) starting from 24 October <strong>2011</strong>. The four<br />
day event assigned two days for females and<br />
other two for males. It was meant to get students<br />
acquainted of employment and scholarship<br />
opportunities offered by <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong><br />
especially for engineers and those with technical<br />
disciplines. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> is also receiving<br />
a number of students as interns. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong><br />
covers education fees and provides allowances<br />
for students until graduation, besides their job<br />
are guaranteed after graduation. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong><br />
receives interns for summer training of future<br />
target jobs during the summer break. KAHR-<br />
MAA also provides part time jobs during summer.<br />
<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> participated as well in the Open<br />
Day of Engineers on October 20th <strong>2011</strong> at «Ibn<br />
Khaldun» Hall at Qatar University, to meet high<br />
school and QU students on how to join KAH-<br />
RAMAA operational, mechanical , and technical<br />
fields. Eng, Abdul Rahman Al-Baker - Head<br />
of the Technical Evaluation and Engineering<br />
Services, Electricity Transmission Department<br />
–delivered a brief presentation about the goals<br />
and mission of <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> and its role in purchase,<br />
distribution and sale of electricity. The<br />
presentation highlighted the current and future<br />
projects of electricity and water production,<br />
Qatarization and summer training programs.<br />
Students were highly impressed by the presentation.<br />
<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> participated also in the “Engineering<br />
Career Day” held on 18/10/<strong>2011</strong> at<br />
Texas A&M university at the Education City.<br />
<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> participation came in line with the<br />
Qatarization policy it pursues and within its endeavor<br />
to attract and get Qatari students acquainted<br />
of the employment and development<br />
opportunities it provides.<br />
The event witnessed interviews with Texas<br />
A&M Qatari engineering graduates. They were<br />
briefed of employment and scholarship opportunities<br />
<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> provides in electrical and<br />
mechanical fields.<br />
The Planning and development section at Human<br />
Resources Department has designed<br />
continuous development plan for the capacity<br />
building of the Qatari cadres. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong><br />
has successfully implemented the competency<br />
based IDP model whether on training & development<br />
plans, or cases dealing with promotion/transfer<br />
as well as succession planning,<br />
and attachment program. Each employee or<br />
intern has a clear training plan and career development.<br />
