KAHRAMAA Attracts Qatari
Cadres to Ensure Sustainable
Human Development
KAHRAMAA endeavors to
achieve its mission of Qatarization.
It comes in line with Qatar
Vision 2030 announced by
H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad
Al-Thani the Heir Apparent
with relation to giving attention to the human
element and the effective career qualification of
the Qatari young men and women as the pillar
of the human development in the State. For the
realization of this end, KAHRAMAA has actively
participated in various employment events.
Human Resources Department (HR), in cooperation
with Public Relations & communication
Department (PR) organized the Student Sponsorship
and Internship Day at Qatar University
(QU) starting from 24 October 2011. The four
day event assigned two days for females and
other two for males. It was meant to get students
acquainted of employment and scholarship
opportunities offered by KAHRAMAA
especially for engineers and those with technical
disciplines. KAHRAMAA is also receiving
a number of students as interns. KAHRAMAA
covers education fees and provides allowances
for students until graduation, besides their job
are guaranteed after graduation. KAHRAMAA
receives interns for summer training of future
target jobs during the summer break. KAHR-
MAA also provides part time jobs during summer.
KAHRAMAA participated as well in the Open
Day of Engineers on October 20th 2011 at «Ibn
Khaldun» Hall at Qatar University, to meet high
school and QU students on how to join KAH-
RAMAA operational, mechanical , and technical
fields. Eng, Abdul Rahman Al-Baker - Head
of the Technical Evaluation and Engineering
Services, Electricity Transmission Department
–delivered a brief presentation about the goals
and mission of KAHRAMAA and its role in purchase,
distribution and sale of electricity. The
presentation highlighted the current and future
projects of electricity and water production,
Qatarization and summer training programs.
Students were highly impressed by the presentation.
KAHRAMAA participated also in the “Engineering
Career Day” held on 18/10/2011 at
Texas A&M university at the Education City.
KAHRAMAA participation came in line with the
Qatarization policy it pursues and within its endeavor
to attract and get Qatari students acquainted
of the employment and development
opportunities it provides.
The event witnessed interviews with Texas
A&M Qatari engineering graduates. They were
briefed of employment and scholarship opportunities
KAHRAMAA provides in electrical and
mechanical fields.
The Planning and development section at Human
Resources Department has designed
continuous development plan for the capacity
building of the Qatari cadres. KAHRAMAA
has successfully implemented the competency
based IDP model whether on training & development
plans, or cases dealing with promotion/transfer
as well as succession planning,
and attachment program. Each employee or
intern has a clear training plan and career development.
