<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> Held the Annual Planning Forum <strong>2011</strong><br />

Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammed<br />

bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy<br />

and Industry, Qatar General Electricity<br />

& Water Corporation “<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong>” held<br />

the two day annual planning forum <strong>2011</strong>. Water<br />

Networks Affairs Director, Eng. Ali Saif Al-Malki<br />

chaired the meeting as representative of KAH-<br />

RAMAA President Eng. Essa Hilal Al-Kuwari.At<br />

the beginning of the forum, Public Relations &<br />

Communication Department Manager, Mr. Abdulla<br />

Anbar Al-Jassim welcomed <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong><br />

Directors, Managers, and senior staff appreciating<br />

their attendance and participation in setting<br />

<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> five year strategy. Al-Jassim hailed<br />

<strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> excellence in several fields and the<br />

strategic projects it implemented as a an efficient<br />

customer oriented corporation. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong><br />

trend is reflected in the noticeable growth of demand<br />

on services compared with 2010. Eng. Ali<br />

Saif Al-Malki delivered a speech in lieu of KAH-<br />

RAMAA President highlighting that all sectors<br />

are instructed to ensure the Alignment of plans<br />

with Qatar National Vision 2030 while working to<br />

implement and overcome challenges. It justifies<br />

the forum theme “Alignment of <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> 5<br />

Year Business Plans and Strategies with QNDS<br />

<strong>2011</strong>-2016”. The President speech pointed out<br />

that the volume of electricity and water production<br />

goes in line with the increase demand<br />

due to the population increase and the urban<br />

and economic development ensued. Statistics<br />

shows that at the end of <strong>2011</strong>, electricity production<br />

increased by 9% and water’s by 8.5%<br />

compared by 2010. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> provides<br />

supplies to 272,159 electricity customers and<br />

225, 821 water customers. Electricity customer<br />

increased by 16% and water’s by21.6% compared<br />

with 2010. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> has plans and<br />

studies to face any water crisis. <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> is a<br />

customer focused corporation as it offers many<br />

projects for the development and upgrade of<br />

customer services in order to meet their needs<br />

in an implementation of its strategy of achieving<br />

customer satisfaction by making use of the<br />

modern technology.The speech stressed KAH-<br />

RAMAA commitment to the job Qatarization, the<br />

recruitment of efficient personnel, and the provision<br />

of healthy and risk free work environment<br />

by the monitoring and control of all <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong><br />

institution to ensure the safety of staff. Afterwards,<br />

Eng. Yousuf Janahi Corporate Planning<br />

and Business Development Manager (CPBD)<br />

displayed a presentation on <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> five<br />

year plan 2012 – 2016 reviewing the projects<br />

for the development of electricity and water networks<br />

and customer services.At the end of the<br />

opening session, Eng. Mohamed Nagib Omara,<br />

CPBD Deputy Manager for strategic planning<br />

affairs displayed a presentation detailing the<br />

alignment of <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> 5 year business plans<br />

and strategies with QNDS 2012-2016. Omara<br />

highlighted that the plans focus on the four pillars<br />

of QNV 2030 (i.e. economic, environmental,<br />

human, and social development).<br />

It is worth to mention that <strong>KAHRAMAA</strong> holds<br />

the annual planning forum to stress its corporate<br />

values of transparency, honest, and teamwork<br />

spirit in dealing with customers and all stakeholders.<br />
