E<strong>the</strong>rnet finally also for humidity transmitters<br />

Tes<strong>to</strong>, as <strong>the</strong> first supplier worldwide of humidity measurem<strong>en</strong>t<br />

technology, offers an E<strong>the</strong>rnet interface for humidity transmitters.<br />

Now, parallel <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> use of analog outputs for regulation purposes,<br />

integrated measurem<strong>en</strong>t data moni<strong>to</strong>ring from <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong> field <strong>to</strong><br />

managem<strong>en</strong>t level (e.g. data from production available in <strong>the</strong> office) is<br />

made possible easily, effici<strong>en</strong>tly and at a competitive price.<br />

E<strong>the</strong>rnet is preval<strong>en</strong>t in almost all office networks so that installation<br />

work is kept <strong>to</strong> a minimum wh<strong>en</strong> <strong>the</strong> humidity transmitter is<br />

Developed for practical use<br />

The E<strong>the</strong>rnet module is an “intermediate layer” (sandwich design)<br />

which is already built in<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> tes<strong>to</strong> 6651 and 6681 transmitters in <strong>the</strong><br />

fac<strong>to</strong>ry. It can also be subsequ<strong>en</strong>tly easily and quickly retrofitted on<br />

site.<br />

Two LEDs signal <strong>the</strong> status of <strong>the</strong> power and LAN connection <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

system opera<strong>to</strong>r responsible.<br />

By using an E<strong>the</strong>rnet plug suitable for industry, IP65 housing<br />

protection can be guaranteed so that <strong>the</strong> transmitter withstands <strong>the</strong><br />

sometimes <strong>to</strong>ugh and demanding conditions of industrial processes.<br />

The E<strong>the</strong>rnet module with tes<strong>to</strong> 6651and<br />

tes<strong>to</strong> 6681 transmitters can be operated in<br />

two modes:<br />

1. Integration of transmitter in <strong>the</strong> tes<strong>to</strong><br />

Saveris measurem<strong>en</strong>t data moni<strong>to</strong>ring<br />

system<br />

2. Integration of transmitter in cus<strong>to</strong>mer’s<br />

moni<strong>to</strong>ring system (op<strong>en</strong> log)<br />

1. tes<strong>to</strong> Saveris now fit for all humidity<br />

applications<br />

If <strong>the</strong> E<strong>the</strong>rnet module is operated in <strong>the</strong> tes<strong>to</strong><br />

Saveris mode, tes<strong>to</strong> 6651 and tes<strong>to</strong> 6681<br />

transmitters can be easily implem<strong>en</strong>ted in <strong>the</strong><br />

tes<strong>to</strong> Saveris measurem<strong>en</strong>t data moni<strong>to</strong>ring<br />

system. In addition <strong>to</strong> actual measurem<strong>en</strong>t<br />

data docum<strong>en</strong>tation and visualisation using<br />

tes<strong>to</strong> Saveris software, <strong>the</strong>re is also <strong>the</strong><br />

option of notifying <strong>the</strong> person responsible for<br />

<strong>the</strong> system if limits are exceeded.<br />

In this operating mode, <strong>the</strong> transmitter has an<br />

internal data s<strong>to</strong>re which prev<strong>en</strong>ts data from<br />

getting lost if <strong>the</strong> LAN connection breaks<br />

down. All of <strong>the</strong> humidity parameters (e.g.<br />

%RH, g/m³, g/kg, ppm, etc.) can be<br />

transmitted. The transmitter is parameterised<br />

using P2A software or <strong>the</strong> transmitter’s<br />

operating m<strong>en</strong>u.<br />

While moni<strong>to</strong>ring using tes<strong>to</strong> Saveris, PLC<br />

control (if required) is possible with <strong>the</strong><br />

transmitters.<br />

In addition <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> tes<strong>to</strong> 6681 transmitter<br />

humidity probes, <strong>the</strong>re are now also probes<br />

available for special applications such as high<br />

humidity, trace humidity, corrosive<br />
