21679 SYSTEM MATE Incorrect message with System Mate when installing the TFR V5 Patch 4 Maintenance Patch on Tru64: the log window displays two messages saying the subsets TFRITORT512V50001P004 and TFRITORT610V50001P004 do not need to be installed. But in fact, these two subsets are installed and no message informs the customer they have been installed on the host. Ignore the error message. The action is successful: 21680 SYSTEM MATE Incorrect behavior with System Mate when installing the TFR V5 Patch 4 Maintenance Patch on Tru64: the procedure removes all the STM patches installed on the host. This problem prevents from installing the current Maintenance Patch using TeMIP System Mate. If you need to install the TeMIP Framework V5 Patch 4 kit using TeMIP SystemMate, please contact the TeMIP Support (e-mail: VBETEMIPSUPP@hp.com ) to get a patch for this problem. 32
Chapter 6 Important Notes 6.1 Upgrade to Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 The TeMIP Framework Patch 4 Maintenance Patch upgrades Orbix product from Orbix E2A ASP 5.1.2 to Orbix 6.1. This section describes the impact of this upgrade: the changes in the Orbix configuration and the actions the user may need to apply. 6.1.1 Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 and 5.1.2 Configuration 6.1.1.1 Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 Upgrade This upgrade is done into 2 steps: 1. 2. Installation of an additonal mandatory subset TFRITORT610V500. This subset provides all files necessary to use Orbix E2A ASP 6.1. It is a temporary step. The installation of this subset has no impact on the different TeMIP products. TAL Orbix Server FM and CORBA AMs continue using Orbix E2A ASP 5.1.2. It is still the main Orbix version. Look at /usr/opt/temip/release.notes/README.TFRITORT610V500 to see how configuring and using Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 for your CORBA servers, without any impact on TeMIP products. Installation of the TeMIP Framework V5 Patch 4 Maintenance Patch and run /usr/opt/temip/bin/temip_setup -> TAL Orbix Server FM setup Once the Maintenance Release is installed and temip_setup -> tal_orbix_server_setup script has been run, Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 becomes the official Orbix version. It means: • TAL Orbix Server FM now uses the Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 • Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 processes (Locator and naming service) are now used by default: In /usr/opt/temip/bin directory: temip_orbix_setup is linked to temip_orbix_setup_610 orbix_start is linked to orbix_start_610 orbix_stop is linked to orbix_stop_610 temip_start calls orbix_start, so Orbix E2A ASP 6.1 is automatically started with TeMIP. 33
