and introduce them to the benefits of
an ABS membership. We want your
mechanics to be ABS members. This
helps our owners and also benefits
mechanics, who will receive ABS
tech support five days a week – a
service which often gets owners and
mechanics out of several jams and can
save hundreds of dollars for even one
maintenance issue.
“As a technical advisor for American
Bonanza Society, I was asked to design
and teach a class to mechanics on the
maintenance and care of the Beech
Bonanza and Baron aircraft. I designed
the program to cover the areas that I
see as I complete the service clinic
inspections program for ABS around
the country, paying special attention
to the inspection and rigging of the
landing gear,” said Ripley.
The first class was conducted
in 2012 with great success, with
20 mechanics selected from an
extensive list of over 100 candidates.
The addition of the second instructor
enhanced the program even more
by being able to deliver important
information both inside and outside
of the classroom setting. “Each time
we hold the class we learn more
ways to better our program.” Ripley
said. “We will continue to employ the
two-instructor concept in the June
class in New Hampshire and the
fall class in California. This program
provides better trained and more
quality maintenance to our members
and also helps mechanics in the field
be more versed in the systems and
maintenance of Beech aircraft.” Here’s
what others had to say:
“In my opinion any mechanic
would benefit from attending the ABS
maintenance program. Learning from
expert instructors that have real world
experience that know the little tricks
to set up a system properly and know
the common and uncommon problems
of Beech aircraft is priceless.”
