ELIGIBILITY OF DEPENDENT SON (S)<br />
1. Reference Central Organisation <strong>ECHS</strong> letter Nos:-<br />
(a) B/49701-PR//AG/<strong>ECHS</strong> dated 01 Jun 2006.<br />
(b) B/49764/AG/<strong>ECHS</strong>/R dated 15 Feb 2005.<br />
2. Amendments in <strong>eligibility</strong> conditions for dependent son (s) stipulated vide our letters under<br />
reference is further amplified as given in the succeeding paragraphs.<br />
3. <strong>ECHS</strong> Membership For Dependent Son(s). Existing Para 3(d) of this HQ letter mentioned<br />
at Para 1(a) above may please be deleted and substituted by the following:-<br />
“Unemployed and wholly dependent son is permitted to be included as dependent. Details<br />
must be included in the service record of the pensioner. However, to avail the medical facilities<br />
beyond the age of 25 years the ESM pensioner/family pensioner will annually certify the<br />
dependency of his/her son through an ‘Affidavit’ on attaining the age of 25 years. This implies<br />
that a wholly dependent son is permitted to avail medical facilities irrespective of age provided<br />
that ESM pensioner certifies his dependency annually commencing from the age of 25 years”.<br />
4. Removal of Age For Onset of Disability. It is clarified that there is no age restriction for<br />
onset of permanent disability in a dependent child.<br />
5. The above may please be given wide publicity.<br />
