Exploring Technology Education<br />

(5th and/or 6th Grade: One Semester A/B Days)<br />

Students will actively engage in STEM projects and theory, which will<br />

involve 21st century technology and skills in multiple areas <strong>of</strong> concentration.<br />

These areas will include manufacturing, construction, transportation,<br />

and communication. Students will work alone and with groups to<br />

problem solve, design, develop, and assess the impacts <strong>of</strong> technology.<br />

Projects and areas <strong>of</strong> study will include, but are not limited to, problem<br />

solving activities and robotics.<br />

Technology Education 7<br />

(7th Grade: 9-Week Daily Course)<br />

Students will actively engage in STEM projects and theory which will<br />

involve 21st century technology and skills in multiple areas <strong>of</strong> concentration.<br />

These areas will include manufacturing, construction, transportation,<br />

and communication. Students will work alone and with groups to<br />

problem solve, design, develop, and assess the impacts <strong>of</strong> technology.<br />

Projects and areas <strong>of</strong> study will include, but are not limited to, green<br />

construction/sustainable energy, robotics, 3-D rapid prototyping, and<br />

3-D modeling/solid rendering through the use <strong>of</strong> CADD programs and<br />

manufacturing.<br />

Technology Education 8<br />

(8th Grade: 9-Week Daily Course)<br />

Students will actively engage in STEM projects and theory which will<br />

involve 21st century technology and skills in multiple areas <strong>of</strong> concentration.<br />

These areas will include manufacturing, construction, transportation,<br />

and communication. Students will work alone and with groups to<br />

problem solve, design, develop, and assess the impacts <strong>of</strong> technology.<br />

Projects and areas <strong>of</strong> study will include, but are not limited to, 3-D rapid<br />

prototyping, video production, materials processing, and 3-D modeling/<br />

solid rendering through the use <strong>of</strong> CADD programs and manufacturing.<br />
