provides also the relevant reference material which the student is supposed to study in detail. Similarly,<br />

the course material may also provide a list of important cases (with citations) on relevant topics and<br />

the student is expected to study the judgments of those cases from Law Reports.<br />

Study Centre for PCP Programmes<br />

Week end classes will be held at selected study centres, subject to the minimum enrollment<br />

prescribed. Refer ANNEXURE - I for list of study centres.<br />

EXAMINATIONS<br />

Pattern of Examination : The pattern of examination of LL.M Programme shall be as follows:<br />

a) Year-end examination: The year end examination shall be for 100 marks in each paper i.e. six<br />

theory papers at the end of first year and two theory papers at the end of second year.<br />

b) Dissertation (final year): The candidate has to submit a dissertation on a ␣ topic related to his<br />

specialization at the end of the final year. It will be valued for 200 marks.<br />

The purpose of the dissertation is to provide an experience to the student to apply his knowledge<br />

of research methodology on a topic of his/her choice related to the specialization. The student<br />

has to select a guide and select the topic with the assistance of the guide. Any lecturer in a Law<br />

College, with an LL.M degree, is eligible to guide the candidate. The dissertation should consist<br />

a comprehensive study of any topic. It is advisable that the student also undertakes an empirical<br />

study in addition to the theoretical analysis of the topic. The dissertation may consist of about<br />

150 typed pages. The student should submit the dissertation proposal in the following format at<br />

the end of the first year examination.<br />

Two copies of the Dissertation should be submitted in hard bound (Spiral binding is not permitted)<br />

candidate should submit the dissertation with Title page Declaration form and certificate from
