An additional facility for the separation of MAs from high active<br />
raffinate (HAR) can be attached to an existing reprocessing plant.<br />
The separated MAs can be stored together with separated plutonium in<br />
existing storage facilities.<br />
The secondary waste resulting from the partitioning processes can be<br />
treated in the same facility in which low and intermediate level waste<br />
(LILW) is treated and conditioned.<br />
Iodine isolated from the dissolver off-gases can be conditioned and stored<br />
instead of discharged into the sea.<br />
New fuel fabrication plants with g–n shielding will have to be erected<br />
when recycling in the fuel cycle is started.<br />
