Participants’ profiles: The participants are international stu<strong>de</strong>nts (French language is<br />
not required). The majority of <strong>the</strong>m have a bachelor <strong>de</strong>gree and one- to three-years’ work<br />
experience. From September to June <strong>the</strong>y follow <strong>the</strong> MSc Innovation Strategy<br />
Entrepreneurship class. They will work on this case study in addition to <strong>the</strong>ir usual<br />
assignments in exercises, exams and workgroups.<br />
Expectations and objectives for <strong>the</strong> MSc Innovation Strategy<br />
Entrepreneurship stu<strong>de</strong>nts:<br />
Based on <strong>the</strong> briefing to be given by <strong>the</strong> company <strong>the</strong> stu<strong>de</strong>nts will get involved in an<br />
Innovation plan for <strong>the</strong> company, based on <strong>the</strong> briefing that <strong>the</strong>y will receive. They must<br />
put into practice acquired methodology and <strong>de</strong>monstrate <strong>the</strong>ir competencies. We will look<br />
for scientific precision in diagnostics, analysis and interpretation of occurrences during preparation of <strong>the</strong> case as well<br />
as within <strong>the</strong> recommendations proposed.<br />
The study would cover:<br />
- Looking at a disruptive innovation or a <strong>de</strong>sign innovation, or a product or a managerial innovation issues from an<br />
integrated, holistic perspective,<br />
- Providing <strong>the</strong> stu<strong>de</strong>nts with a final opportunity to apply <strong>the</strong> material courses and lectures that <strong>the</strong>y have learned (see<br />
Appendices below),<br />
- The focal point of <strong>the</strong> case, i.e. <strong>the</strong> team’s analysis and recommendations for <strong>the</strong> problems involved.<br />
• They analyze <strong>the</strong> case in groups. They will be able to build company analysis, i<strong>de</strong>ntify target business<br />
<strong>de</strong>velopment by questioning <strong>the</strong> Company and school tutor. They have to propose, apply a methodology, and<br />
make some, clear, useful and efficient recommendations.<br />
• At <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> study, each group will make its oral presentation to <strong>the</strong> Jury (company tutor, school tutor and<br />
program director) and <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r groups.<br />

GGSB MSc Business Development Program enhances focus on China<br />
As part of <strong>the</strong> MSc Business Development program at <strong>Grenoble</strong> Graduate School of Business, stu<strong>de</strong>nts have <strong>the</strong><br />
opportunity to visit one emerging economy each year. The goal is to create an integrated learning experience for all<br />
participants. The International Study Resi<strong>de</strong>ncy combines aca<strong>de</strong>mic lectures, corporate visits, and cultural activities.<br />
The stu<strong>de</strong>nts gain extensive knowledge of global business practices to prepare <strong>the</strong>m as business <strong>de</strong>velopers that<br />
consistently perform across cultures and compete on a global market<br />
China Resi<strong>de</strong>ncy Overview<br />
This year’s China resi<strong>de</strong>ncy program hosted 34 stu<strong>de</strong>nts from 22 countries<br />
along with <strong>the</strong>ir Program Director, Marie France Der<strong>de</strong>rian, <strong>the</strong><br />
University’s Director of Development & Executive Education Gaël Fouillard<br />
and <strong>the</strong> Dean of GGSB, Judith Bouvard.<br />
The resi<strong>de</strong>ncy began with a visit to Shanghai; <strong>the</strong> most mo<strong>de</strong>rn and<br />
vibrant cities. MSc stu<strong>de</strong>nts studied different areas that ma<strong>de</strong> Shanghai<br />
<strong>the</strong> lea<strong>de</strong>r and driver of China’s economic growth. The trip continued with<br />
a visit to Beijing. Despite its role as China’s capital and home to a large<br />
number of international business and diplomatic resi<strong>de</strong>nts, Beijing remains<br />
a traditional city due to its long-lasting importance as <strong>the</strong> cultural and<br />
political center of China.<br />
Stu<strong>de</strong>nt’s Feedback<br />
Taking part in this exceptional experience helped us in acquiring <strong>the</strong> right balance of<br />
informative business visits and opportunities for cultural exploration. All of <strong>the</strong><br />
logistics were well organized and our hosts and tour gui<strong>de</strong>s provi<strong>de</strong>d important<br />
assistance. The companies we visited as Michelin China, Airbus Tianjin, Sansi Tech<br />
(Chinese company),Aon Hewitt,(consulting firm),Oxylane Decathlon, Asobio , EDF<br />
Trading and <strong>the</strong> executives who spoke with us were particularly impressive. The<br />
level of attention <strong>the</strong>y gave to our questions was exceptional. This was a rewarding<br />
experience for all of us.
