Diode Circuit Analysis: Basics Objective: to find the DC current (I D ) and voltage (V D ), or quiescent operating point (Q-point) of the diode. V and R may represent Thevenin equivalent of a more complex 2-terminal network. Full set of equations: 1. Diode equation: I D ⎡ ⎛V ⎞ ⎤ D = I ⎢ ⎜ ⎟ − S exp 1⎥ ⎣ ⎝ VT ⎠ ⎦ 2.
