1 To allow participants to express their views on roles and gender roles.<br />
2 To consider the gendered division <strong>of</strong> labour.<br />
3 To enable participants to reflect on their own personal values and<br />
beliefs<br />
4 To recognise the multiple work and responsibilities <strong>of</strong> women.<br />
5 To consider the relationships between men and women<br />
6 To relate gender roles and relationships to the development process as<br />
a whole.<br />

Preparation<br />
1 Read the handouts and procedures carefully before the session so that<br />
you are thoroughly familiar with the subject matter and proposed<br />
methodology.<br />
2 Download the PowerPoint presentation.<br />
3 Make sure that you have sufficient copies <strong>of</strong> handouts 7.1 and 7.2 to<br />
distribute to each participant.<br />
4 Prepare the flipchart with headings in three columns: reproductive role,<br />
productive role and community role.<br />
5 Write the objectives <strong>of</strong> the session on a flipchart/slide.<br />
