ing as the curator of the Friendship Heights Village
Gallery. Millie will feature watercolor and mixed
media paintings of her landscapes and figural
work. Martha Spak teaches at the Yellow Barn
Gallery and is program manager for Leading
Artist’s Gallery, an online art gallery that juries a
monthly art competition and features the winners
in a permanent Gallery. This year, Martha was
involved with shows from Delaware, Maryland,
Washington, D.C. and North Carolina. She is noted
for her still life paintings as well as her atmospheric
and classical oil landscapes which will
feature in this show.
Gallery Resident Artists: Colette Calilhanna, Terri
Cunningham, Cherry Dearie, Carol Dyer, Felisa
Federman, Claire Howard, Anne Martinez, Yolanda
Prinsloo, Dot Procter, Millie Schott, and Martha
Spak work in all mediums and varying subject
matter from portraiture, still life, landscapes, and
abstracts. Always on display, with new works
every month as the resident artists and visiting
artists create new shows with different themes.

Black, White + Gray, January 6-February 29.
Our members come together for a group
exhibition that explores the unifying theme
of a limited palette. Through the subtleties of
gray and the high contrasts of black and white,
elements such as form, texture, line, shape
and pattern are revealed. The power of black,
white, and gray gives artists the opportunity to
explore their subject and color through a new
filter; the results may be surprising.
