PREAMBLE<br />

A RESOLUTION: TO PROVIDE FOR THE DIVISION OF THE MARION TOWNSHIP, ALLEN<br />

COUNTY, OHIO, INTO DISTRICTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF LIMITING AND THE<br />

REGULATION OF HEIGHT, BULK AND LOCATION, INCLUDING PERCENTAGE OF LOT<br />

LINES AND AREA AND DIMENSIONS OF YARDS, COURTS AND OTHER OPEN SPACES<br />

AND THE USES OF BUILDINGS, OTHER STRUCTURES AND TO PROVIDE PROCEDURE<br />

FOR THE CHANGE OF SUCH DISTRICTS AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE REQUIRED.<br />

The Zoning Commission of Marion Township, <strong>County</strong> of <strong>Allen</strong>, State of Ohio has certified to the<br />

Trustees thereof a <strong>zoning</strong> text as amended and map for the districting of the Township<br />

according to the use of buildings and other structures and of premises. The Township has<br />

determined that in the interest of promoting the public health, safety, convenience, comfort,<br />

prosperity and general welfare, it is necessary that it regulate and restrict the location of<br />

buildings and other structures and of premises to be used for trade, industry, residence and<br />

other specified uses. It is therefore necessary for Township Trustees to provide for the<br />

districting of the <strong>township</strong> into such areas as are required to carry forth the intention heretofore<br />

expressed. It is also therefore necessary to provide regulations for each of such districts,<br />

designating the kinds of classes or trades, industries, residences or other proposes for which<br />

buildings or other structures or premises may be permitted to be erected, altered or used.<br />

The Board of Trustees of Marion Township authorized a public hearing to be held to address the<br />

Resolution as amended and certified thereto by the said Zoning Commission on the ____ day of<br />

______. Set the date of _____, _____ at ______ O’clock p.m. Eastern Standard Time in the<br />

Township House of the said Township located at as the time and place for the said public<br />

hearing.<br />

The Clerk of the Township had caused to be published in the <strong>Lima</strong> News, newspapers of<br />

general circulation in Marion Township, a legal notice of the time, place and subject of the said<br />

hearing at least thirty (30) days in advance of the date thereof, as set forth hereinbefore. During<br />

the period of thirty (30) days next following the publication of the legal notice as hereinbefore set<br />

forth, a complete text as amended and <strong>zoning</strong> map or a copy thereof, of this Resolution, as<br />

submitted by the Zoning Commission was on file for public examination in the office at the<br />

Marion Township House.<br />

Upon public hearing and after consideration of the matter, it is hereby determined by the<br />

Trustees that it would be conducive to the public interest to proceed with the plan as amended<br />

and proposed by the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission has approved this<br />

Resolution establishing a general and comprehensive <strong>zoning</strong> text and map as amended for<br />

Marion Township.<br />
