4.2.7 Extractive activities, including quarrying and mining of natural resources
subject to the provisions of Section 10.9.
4.2.8 Veterinary Clinics (Household Pets) shall be allowed as a conditional use in
an Agricultural District provided:
a. No structure or outdoor area used for the treatment, housing or exercise
of animals shall be located at distance of less than one hundred (100)
feet from any lot line;
b. The facility shall be placed on a lot at least one (1) acre in size; and,
c. Adequate off-street parking shall be provided.
4.2.9 Agricultural Service Centers providing technical, wholesale or service
oriented support for agricultural shall be allowed as a conditional use
provided:
a. The facility shall be placed on a parcel at least 5 acres in size;
b. No structure shall be placed within 100 feet from any lot line;
c. Adequate off street parking shall be provided; and,
d. Facilities incorporating farm implement sales/services or grain elevators,
with or without railroad spurring, shall incorporate buffering elements as
provided in Section 11.18 of this text.
4.2.10 In an attempt to preserve and rehabilitate older (pre-1960) agricultural
structures, to maintain the rural esthetics of the township, and to return such
structures to a certain economic viability, any person may maintain an office,
shop or practice in a pre-existing wooden barn/shed provided:
a. Such practices shall be conducted exclusively by resident occupants;
b. No structural alterations are made to the exterior involving features no
customarily found on such structures of their specific period;
c. No storage of related equipment, materials of other supplies shall be
visible from the exterior of the structure;
d. The structure shall be placed on at least one (1) acre in size;
e. No structure shall be located 100 feet from any lot line;
f. Adequate off street parking is provided;
g. No exterior lighting is provided; and,
h. A single unlit sign of not over four (4) square feet in area and attached flat
against the building shall be permitted.
