Laundry - Automatic: A business that provides home-type washing, drying and/or<br />
ironing machines for hire to be used by customers on the premises or operated by the<br />
benefit of retail customers who bring in and call for laundry.<br />
Living Area: The total square footage of usable living floor space within the defined<br />
areas created by the walls of a dwelling. Such area does not include open patios, open<br />
terraces, or courts, open breezeways, outside steps, basements, garages and/or<br />
carports.<br />
Least Dimension: The least dimension of a lot is the least of the horizontal dimensions<br />
of such lot, and if two opposite sides of a lot are not parallel, such least dimensions shall<br />
be deemed to be the mean distance between them, but shall be not less than sixty<br />
(60%) of the longest of such distance.<br />
Level: That portion of a building, other than a cellar, included between the surface of<br />
any floor and the surface of the floor next above it, or if there be no floor above it, then<br />
the space between the floor and the ceiling next above it.<br />
Level, Half: A partial Level under a gable, hip or gambrel roof, the wall plates of which<br />
on at least two (2) opposite exterior walls are more than two (2) feet, but not more than<br />
five (5) feet above the floor of such Level, except that any partial Level used for<br />
residence purposes, other than by a family occupying the floor immediately below it,<br />
shall be deemed a full Level.<br />
Loading Space: A space within the main building or on the same lot providing for the<br />
parking, loading or unloading of trucks. The space having a minimum dimension of<br />
twelve (12) by thirty-five (35) feet in length and a vertical clearance of at least fourteen<br />
(14) feet in height.<br />
Loading Space, Off-Street: Space logically and conveniently located for bulk pickups<br />
and deliveries, scaled to delivery vehicles expected to be used, and accessible to such<br />
vehicles when required off-street parking spaces are filled. All off-street loading spaces<br />
shall be located totally outside of any street or alley right-of-way.<br />
Lodging or Rooming House: A dwelling or part thereof where lodging is provided for<br />
three (3) or more but not more than twenty (20) persons.<br />
Lot: For the purpose of this Resolution, a lot is a parcel of land of sufficient size to meet<br />
minimum <strong>zoning</strong> requirements for use, coverage, and area, and to provide such yards<br />
and other open spaces as are herein required. Such lot shall have frontage on an<br />
improved public street, and may consist of: (1) a single lot of record; (2) a portion of a lot<br />
of record; and, (3) a combination of complete lots of record, of complete lots of record<br />
and portions of lots of record, or of portions of lots of record.<br />
Lot, Area: The total area (depth times width) within the lot lines of a lot, not including<br />
any portion of a publicly dedicated street or road right-of-way.<br />
Lot, Corner: A corner lot is defined as a lot located at the intersection of two (2) or more<br />
streets. A lot abutting on a curved street or streets shall be considered a corner lot if<br />
straight lines drawn from the foremost points of the side lot lines to the foremost point of<br />
the lot meet at an interior angle of less than one hundred thirty-five degrees.<br />
Lot Coverage: The ratio of enclosed ground floor area of all buildings on a lot to the<br />
horizontally projected area of the lot, expressed as a percentage.<br />
